Deadline for Teaching Assistantships - March 1 annually

A number of Teaching Assistantships are available to incoming students.

Teaching assistants are normally appointed for one academic year of nine months. The Fall Semester runs from late August to mid-December, the Winter Semester from mid-January to mid-May. T.A. appointments are usually renewed for a second year if teaching and progress toward the degree are satisfactory. Subsequent appointment may result in special cases, depending upon departmental needs and resources. A stipend is offered and fees for courses taken toward the MA are waived.

In addition, the Graduate School offers several valuable fellowships for which the department may nominate incoming students.
