Chinese Studies


Students who wish to pursue Chinese studies at the University of Missouri have a variety of courses in both language and culture, and across several disciplines, from which they can choose. On campus there are many China-related cultural activities and East Asian related organizations. There are also many opportunities for study abroad in China both with programs led by MU faculty, and with third parties. 


Chinese Arts Performance – Shanghai Normal University Troupe

Shanghai Normal University partnered with MU to establish our Confucius Institute in 2011. To celebrate our friendship and partnership, a troupe of performers from Shanghai Normal University are sharing their talents with us. We invite you to come and enjoy a program of many Chinese performing arts including martial arts, folk dance & music, classical dance and unique traditional instruments. Invite your friends and family to experience the masterful skills of these visiting artisans at this free show.

Confucius Institute at the University of Missouri is about to open Business Chinese course for the students of MU in September 2016. This course is based on the qualification of Basic Chinese level.  $100 fee for 10 sessions.  Please sign up by email at by September 26, 2016.

HSK Testing

The Confucius Institute at the University of Missouri will hold the HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi, Chinese Language Level Tests) tests on Oct, 16 and Dec. 4 2016, the location is at Mizzou North. The tests include HSK level 1, level 2, level 3, level 4, level 5, level 6. You can choose your test level.  Test times will depend on which level test you take.

Chinese Dumpling Festival

Missouri United Methodist Church, $20 in advance, $25 at the door
